iTouch Group Chief Executive elected as MEF EMEA board member
Barcelona, March 01, 2017: As this year's Mobile World Congress kicks off, the telecommunications industry is abuzz with new developments, changes and predictions for the coming 12 months.
Once of the primary agendas at this annual event is selecting the representatives who will stand on the Mobile Ecosystem Forum board and specifically those who will represent the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region.
A new MEF EMEA board member
Elections were held during the course of the conference and results were tallied and we at iTouch are pleased to announce that our very own Waheed Adam has been elected to stand as a board member for MEF EMEA.
Waheeds' Vision
Waheed will focus efforts on engaging MNOs across Africa to tackle Fraud via MEF’s critical Messaging Initiative. He also would like to leverage i-Touch’s pan Africa agenda to strengthen MEF’s presence and value-add across the Continent.

What is MEF?
Established in 2000, the Mobile Ecosystem Forum is a global trade body that acts as an impartial and authoritative champion for addressing issues affecting the broadening mobile ecosystem. We provide our members with a global and cross-sector platform for networking, collaboration and advancing industry solutions.
The goal is to accelerate the growth of a sustainable mobile ecosystem that drives inclusion for all and delivers trusted services that enrich the lives of consumers worldwide.
What is MEF EMEA?
MEF launched its EMEA chapter in Paris in November 2006 and the chapter championed vital areas of European policy, responding to EU consultations on key issues such as child safety and content online. In 2010 it opened an office in the Middle East supported by ooredoo Group and MEF Africa was launched in 2012 supported by Vodacom.
The EMEA Board has representatives from across Europe, The Middle East and Africa. It is the champion of MEF’s Mobile Money Initiative and takes an active role in the Global Consumer Trust Initiative.
